The story so far

I quit law the same day I was was called to the bar in 2005, deciding to believe in the power of communication and connection instead of ''you're wrong I'm right''. And so I started telling stories instead, first as an actor playing everything from politicians to sex workers, and then as a writer creating scripts focused on identity - whether of heritage, gender, sexuality, age, or purpose. I also believe in sharing clients' stories, whether as a host for their programmes and events, or by crafting bespoke scripts and shows to help spread their unique messages all over the world.

I believe in the power of humour in everything I do, because if we don't laugh, we'll be crying all the time. And probably also because I went to clown school (Where my fellow Ecole Philippe Gaulier students at?)

"By turns laugh-out-loud funny and gut-wrenchingly painful, Tan's writing is as sharp as her performance"

Edinburgh Fringe Review

"Hysterical performance...cleverly delivered by the playwright herself."
